Welcome back to Comacan Questions, we are back today with another special guest we came across online. Today’s guest we came across thanks to Keith, Thanks Keith! But you’ll hear a little more on that later. The name got us interested and so we had a quick chat that led to this interview. We hope you enjoy this week’s interview with Spaghetti Skateboards.

What is Spaghetti Skateboards?
Spaghetti Skateboards is a skateboard brand for everybody. Old/young, tall/short, everybody loves spaghetti.

What inspired you to create a skateboard brand?
It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a teenager and I decided it was time and asked my sister Karis to get involved, now we own it together!

What does owning a brand mean to you?
To me it means that we can just do whatever we want and put whatever we want on a skateboard. So much freedom comes from having your own company, it’s a fun little hobby.

Why did you choose the name Spaghetti skateboards?
Originally, I wanted to call the company “Yeast Lords Skateboards” which is from the greatest movie ever made, “gentleman broncos”. But my friend Sarah told me if she went to a shop and saw a board with the word “yeast” on it, that she definitely would not buy that board. So, I started thinking about things I like and spaghetti seemed to fit pretty well.

Where are you based out of?
We are based in Vancouver, BC where it rains a lot, so you have to get a bit creative if you wanna skate from October to April.

What does skateboarding mean to you?
Skateboarding is an artistic outlet. It’s a way to forget about all your problems and just have fun slamming your body into the concrete. It’s a mental and physical workout and it also feels like the fountain of youth. I absolutely love skateboarding.

Where can people view available products?
At the moment, we have the website and Instagram and we’re trying to get into a bunch of shops across the country, stay tuned.

Do you have a team?
Currently we have Brody Mutch on the Sunshine Coast of BC as well as Keith Charszewski repping out in Ontario, Keith rips, keep your eyes out for him.

Anyone you’d like to thank?
I’d like to thank skateboarding in general, Keith, Brody, and most of all my sister Karis, she does so much for this company, without her we wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are!
