Welcome back, another week, another round of Comacan Questions, this week we are joined from some friends we met online that are a little west of us, but we’ll let them tell you where they’re from and what they’re all about. We hope everyone enjoys this week’s interview with Nonsense Media.
What is Nonsense Media?
Gavin – Nonsense media is really just a name we use to put our art out there. In Highschool we had thought of creating a brand of our own but it wasn’t till after graduating that we started brainstorming names. We both decided to take a year off before uni and that’s when I got into digital art and matt started exploring photography more. A few painfully boring jobs and epic doodles later we created Nonsense Media.
Matt – Man I just needed something to do. I really need some way to just be creative and put my art out there. I’ve always thought running a brand would dope so it was the perfect way to do everything at once.
Why did you choose the name Nonsense media?
Matt- I used to work in a dusty warehouse where I had too much free time so I would draw random characters on the sides of crates that ended up becoming some of our early concepts. These half-hazard doodles led me to coming up with the name Nonsense Media.
What products or services do you offer?
As of right now our products include various pieces of clothing such as tees, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Not to mention dope videos and pics for the people. One day we’ll make a hat.
Where are you based out of?
We are based out of our hometown. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Peep the website for real I’m pretty proud of that.
What does skateboarding mean to you?
Skateboarding is a variety of things for me. I started skating because of my dad, he grew up skating in his teens and always had his old boards around. Now it’s both a way to hangout with my friends and a way to push myself past my mental limits to have that sweet reward of learning something new. I definitely want to make more skateboarding content this upcoming summer.
What does snowboarding mean to you?
Snowboarding is another thing I got from my dad, he taught me the basics and I’ve been taking it from there. Since there is really little to no opportunity to skate in our long winters, snowboarding is such a fun way to get everything I enjoy about skating during the winter. I really want to start pushing myself to take snowboarding to another level because it’s just so cool. One of the few sports I really like watching.
Anyone you’d like to thank?
Our friends Garrett and Ethan for helping with content and just keepin it real. Can’t forget Jesus.
